I don't even know how to begin... and I've been numb since receiving the news. I would like to introduce everyone to Miss Jia-rong Ingoldsby.

Jia-rong means "beautiful hibiscus" and although I may be slightly biased, I think her name should be "most beautiful hibiscus." She was born on June 5, 2003, and according to her caretakers, she can sit up, stand with assistance, and is very energetic. She loves food and likes to imitate people. She sounds like a chip of the ol' block. And isn't she just gorgeous!

Just to alleviate any concern. The little photo has ink marks on it, that's not a skin condition ;-)
Posted by: Christofu at April 9, 2004 07:42 PMOh..one last thing...I noticed that her B-day is on June 5th...maybe your two kids will share the same birthdays.... :-)
XD

Posted by: Big V at April 10, 2004 01:30 PMBig V will also have to introduce her to Banh Xeo as her daddy is still working on perfecting his. Thanks for your lovely email V. ~C & C
Posted by: Christofu at April 10, 2004 02:23 PMShe is beautiful! Congratulations! Can't wait to see pictures of you and Christi with her. Travel plans being firmed up?
Posted by: John at April 11, 2004 07:08 AMShe's soooo cute!!!!!! And fattttyyyyy! I like hibiscus. My favorite flower is hibiscus. We have lots here in the Philippines.
Posted by: Sunny at April 11, 2004 08:47 PMThanks Sunny. I think she's pretty darn cute too. The day after we got the pictures, Christi went to get some iced tea downtown and the tea special was hibiscus tea (an oddity here), so I think it must be fate.
Posted by: Christofu at April 11, 2004 11:45 PMShe's amazing. Can't wait to meet her in person.
Posted by: joni at April 15, 2004 10:24 AMSo is it final? Have you guys officially named her Jai Rong?
Posted by: joni at April 15, 2004 11:33 AMWe're planning to keep Jia-rong as her middle name and give her a western first name. Although we think her Chinese name is pretty, it's difficult for westerners to pronounce (especially pronounce correctly).
Also, one thing I promised was that our kids would have relatively short first names. I can remember as a child writing essays, and by the time I finished writing "Christopher Ingoldsby," most of the kids were already done writing their stories.
Posted by: Christofu at April 15, 2004 11:41 AMJust remember that photoshop won't work in real life - and ink stains will be the least of your worries.
Little Peach is adorable - Cousin Eve couldn't take her eyes off the pictures. Great that they are only a couple of months apart in age - no doubt they will be soul sisters.
Congrats again on a perfect daughter.
