We've had a rough couple of days. Just when we thought Soph was getting rid of her cold, she projectile vomitted on me and half the hotel room. We took her to the hospital where they gave her an iv (not for the faint-hearted as they insert the needle into the head for babies), and sent us off with medicine. I think she's feeling better... more smiles. She's also cutting in a couple of new teeth. Here's a pic of a very toothy grin.
Be thankful she didn't spin her head around and talk in tongues before vomitting on you.

I guess that you should be thankful that you're getting practice on a number of the fun things all at once...
Should be very helpful as you'll be a pro at this when 1 baby shortly becomes 2!
Dear Chris,
Why on earth do they put the IV into the babies heads over there (and where exactly)? Audrey had to have one inserted into her arm when she was only about 6 months old and I thought that was bad enough (it took 5 dr's and nurses), but the HEAD? Isn't it amazing how much that helped Sophia to feel better? I hope she continues to smile like she is in this beautiful picture above. When do you guys go home? How is Christi? We are thinking of you and sending you all our love.
I believe they do it in the head because the veins are easier to hit than in a chubby arm. I have to say that the nurses were incredibly skilled, and hit their mark each time flawlessly. Still though it was hard for Daddy to watch (and hear).
We're due to head back on June 12. Christi is fine and officially past her due date. Wondering if Baby B will wait for us to get home.
Chris
Posted by: Christofu at June 8, 2004 07:52 AMChris- you are jumping right into the throws of parenthood aren't you? You are doing a wonderful job! Since Lucy and Sophia are only 1 month apart, let me know if you want to know what Lucy's sleep/food/bottle schedule is like, for an idea. She looks like such a happy girl! Doesn't look like a girl who would vomit all over:)
